Several years ago, my beautiful wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. The news shook our house, and I couldn’t stop thinking about a way to help.
I knew I needed to do something drastic if I was going to provide for her and our two daughters. She needed more time away from work so her body could heal, and I needed the freedom to be able to support her and take care of our children.
To hedge against the turbulent economy, we’d previously bought and managed a few single-family homes. We were thankful they provided extra cash for us while we were deciding the best way forward – but I knew it was going to take a lot more rentals for us to be able to compensate for the upcoming bills.
And the last thing I wanted to do was swap the stress from my corporate job for the stress of chasing tenants around to collect rent.
That’s when I stumbled on an opportunity that changed everything. I was introduced to passive investing in multifamily properties.
